DESCRIPTION:From Acre to Animal: Maximizing Livestock Nutrition Through Strategic Crop Rotations \n\n\n\nYou asked\, we answered! How can you maximize nutrient production for your livestock? OMAFA’s Laura Scott takes us through typical crop rotations to show how much energy\, protein\, and digestible fibre can be grown per acre. Alternative crop rotations will be presented to grow as much of these nutrients as is realistically possible while optimizing field management – and some of these are really out-of-the-box! \n\n\n\nLaura Scott is the Cropping Systems Specialist with the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture\, Food & Agribusiness\, where she helps growers navigate complex production systems by creating clear\, effective\, and actionable strategies for on-farm success. Laura earned her degree in Food\, Agriculture & Resource Economics from the University of Guelph. She earned her Certified Crop Advisor (CCA designation) while working for a local retailer\, before joining the ministry in 2022. Outside of work\, Laura helps her family run their purebred Limousin cow‑calf and grain crop operation just outside of Kemptville\, ON. \n\n\n\nLearn more about Forage Focus here.
