The Association of Community Pastures (ACP) oversees 11 community pastures in Ontario. The pastures are each operated by their own volunteer board and operate independently of each other.
Rainy River Community Pasture

The Rainy River Community Pasture is located in Pinewood, ON. It consists of 1531 acres of rotational grazing pasture, that holds approximately 700 head of cattle annually, from June first to October first.

Thunder Bay Community PASTURE

The Thunder Bay Community Pasture (TBCP) is in rural Thunder Bay in the O’Connor Township comprised of 997 acres among 4 pasture lots. The TBCP hosts nearly 250 head of cattle per season, in mixed herds comprised of cow/calf pairs, steers, heifers and bulls. The pasture has been established for over 60 years and operated by a group of 9 volunteer members. As we are in the 2025 pasture season, we aim to increase our cosigning members to support more local farmers and to extend our grazing season from May into October.

Temiskaming Community Pasture

Temiskaming Community Pasture located east of Earlton is split into two pastures 1 mile apart. Both pastures carry 300 pairs and 100 stockers and consist of roughly 900 acres that is divided up into 10 groups consisting of 20 consigners.

Ice Lake Community Pasture

The community pasture is approximately 1750 acres of continuously grazed roughland pasture. It is grazed from mid May until mid November by 85 cow-calf pairs and up to 20 open heifers. Breeding bulls are added to pasture in early July. Cattle are supplemented with free choice salt and mineral and have access to 4 water ponds throughout the pasture. The pasture consists of naturally occurring grasses within forested and brush areas.

Bruce County Community Pasture

The Bruce County Community Pasture is located in Bruce County just west of Underwood Ontario, from the back hills there is a great view of Lake Huron. The Pasture consists roughly of 1375 ac grazing 1050 cattle from over 50 producers. Grazing season ranges from May till October for both Steers and Heifers.

Grey Dufferin Community Pasture

The Grey Dufferin Community Pasture is located in Grey County close to the town of Dundalk on two separate deeds. The pasture won the TESA award in 2022. The pasture consists of roughly 700 acres grazing stocker cattle. The pasture was established in 1979. There are currently 15 patrons pasturing their cattle from May to September.
