Forages play a vital role in Canadian agriculture, yet their importance is often overlooked. On a national basis, Canada’s hay crop has an estimated annual value of more than $1 billion. From an environmental perspective, forages improve soil structure and fertility for cash crops, and they are essential for soil conservation.

The Ontario Forage Council is the voice of forages – through education, promoting market innovations, supporting research and development, identifying forage issues, implementing policy position statements, and bringing leaders in the forage industry together.

Help us promote forages throughout the province and across Canada.

The Ontario Forage Council gratefully acknowledges the continued support of the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Agribusiness.
